New Game Project Set Up

This little devlog is not that much to update. But its just a basic set up. I’ve not used Unity in a long while and was hoping to use Godot because of simplicity. However, after restarting and reinstalling Unity, it seems to have improved (I think?). Layout is the same old clutter with extra customization and arrangements of assets and how they all relate to each other.

But this update does not hold much other than a basic set up of the itch.io page, a quick draft development build of the game, and upload the source code to Github. Nothing special in my opinion.

There are a few things I would like to add to this game before I could consider stopping game development on it.

  1. Fish spawn and more natural movements

At the moment, the game just has 3 fishes to eat and they are all statically placed in 2D space. Not much of a challenge, eh?

  1. Needs Sound and BGM

I’ve not gotten around to adding sound or BGM to this game yet. Definitely something to do.

  1. Waves or Levels or ??

If I recall correctly, other “fish eating fish” games would have the player challenge the next bigger fishes. The earliest game that I’ve played would wait until the next level/wave, and that level/wave would have pre-determined fish sizes to eat (or to avoid).

It sounds like a lot of work but… sounds like a fun one to get myself prepared for a Game Jam. Consider this as a project exercise.
